Sometimes identified as [SMS] There may more than one UNKNOWN MAKER of skillets sharing these characteristics. SKILLETS HAVE: 1- Inset, unbroken heat ring. 2- Raised SIZE NUMBER on top of handle. 3- Distinct handle reinforcement rib and pad.
4- Tiny Pour Spouts (two styles seen). May or may not have raised MOLDER'S MARK at 6 O'clock.
THIS SKILLET HAS AN [X] for the Molder's Mark. The ONES BEFORE 1890 also have a GATE MARK as this pan has. The pan is Usable AS-IS, however it could use some more light cleaning and seasoning to your own standards. The pan, like all these ANTIQUE SMS PANS has some slight imperfections here and there, but no damage at all. It sits flat and the cook surface is flat. It only weighs 3-1/2 pounds and by picking it up you can readily feel you are holding a quality pan. SEE ALL PICTURES and if you want more just ask.
