GRISWOLD #10 Small Logo Cast Iron Skillet Early Handle p/n 716 A, Fully Restored. I think many (if not most) sellers would actually call it flat, but if I push hard on the upper rim of the pan I can get a small movement.

Two pieces of typing paper at about 4 o'clock neutralizes the movement. The cooking surface has utensil marks and some discoloration but those tend to go away with use as more seasoning is added to the pan and the areas fill in.

The cooking surface is smooth to the touch with the exception of one small pock mark that was caused by a bubble in the hot iron when it was poured. That small spot (see pics, approx the size of a pinhead) isn't rough, but you CAN feel it with your fingertip. The sides (inside and out) have some discoloration that didn't come out no matter how much (hand) scrubbing was done to the pan, but as I mentioned above, discolorations tend to blend in as the whole pan darkens with the seasoning you'll add as you start using the pan. I think the pictures make the upright sides look worse than they actually are but they're smooth to the touch and will darken nicely with use.

There are some very minor casting flaws that are typical of a pan of this age. Please see and enlarge all pictures as they are part of the description. Logo is crisp and clean. If you want additional pictures of any area, please feel free to ask. I personally wouldn't even think of cooking a meal for my family in some of those pans.

Honestly I think some people think "restored" means they've slapped some oil on it. Every pan I sell has been restored by removing the old seasoning/gunk via electrolysis then they are well seasoned with a minimum of three rounds of seasoning. I'm a perfectionist with a good work ethic and I always try my hardest to make every pan look as new as possible.

If there is some discoloration left in a pan, it's because it's not coming off. You will NOT be cooking on some stranger's yucky gunky mess. This gorgeous skillet is ready to use or gift as soon as you get it home. I think you'll enjoy this very well made, smooth pan.
