There is a tiny pin-point dimple in the base near the handle (see last close-up image). This is a common mark due to the hand-made manufacturing process and in no way impacts the function. Make bakery-quality bread at home.

Great for bread as well as sweet and savory baked goods. Domed lid circulates steam and moisture for maximum rise and crisp crust. Low-profile base has raised ridges for even browning and marks the loaf with the Le Creuset logo. Base can also be used as a roaster.

Finish requires no seasoning, minimizes sticking, and resists dulling, staining, chipping and cracking. Matte black satin interior enamel is easy to clean and maintain, and develops a patina over time to enhance baking performance. Oven safe up to 500F. Dishwasher safe, hand washing recommended.
