Antique Royal Roaster #5 1/2 Peanuts Coffee 25lb capacity cast iron early 1900s

  

This listing is for an antique cast iron Royal Roasting Machine Style 5 1/2 with a capacity of 25 lb and serial number P 6188. It was manufactured in the early 1900s by Royal Electric Fixture Corporation, Hornell, NY, USA. This was originally for roasting coffee and peanuts since the drum inside had perforations that were too big for any smaller nuts. The drum inside this was replaced with a solid stainless steel one which allows for the roasting of seeds as small as sesame seeds, but it can definitely still roast coffee and peanuts. My father bought this in Pennsylvania in the late 1960s and used it in his nut roasting business.

The electric motor does not work, but it probably can be restored. A new motor is available (see photo). My father adapted a temperature gauge which bolts on top (see photo) for accurate roasting. It is located in Central Florida. For its age, it is in really good shape. It has never been stored outdoors. Weight is approximately 550 lb.
