Cast Iron Scale - Chicago USA, ca. This is a rare antique cast iron counter scale made by American Cutlery Co.
Likely dating from the early 1900s. The scale features a beautifully aged brass dial with dual markings (0-24 lbs and finer increments), an ornate black cast iron frame, and a square top tray. The face is marked "Warranted", and the original label is still present at the base. Height (including tray): 10 inches. 4 lbs 4 oz (1.93 kg).
###128204; Note: The marble ball used in some photos is not included - it was placed only to demonstrate that the scale reacts to weight and works similarly to a modern digital scale. Good antique condition with wear consistent with age: oxidation, scuffs, and paint loss on the frame and tray. Brass face has a warm patina. A fantastic piece of American industrial history, ideal for vintage kitchen décor, general store displays, or collectors of antique scales.
