Several small indents on the back. Manufactured by Fairbanks & Morse Co.In the 1910s, these weights were commonly used as a counterbalance on the Eclipse windmill (Invented by Leonard Wheeler). This is the later variation Fairbanks weight, nicknamed the "Wet Moon" due to its design: when mounted on the windmill, the two corners of the crescent pointed upwards & caused rain water to pool on the top surface. 10 1/2" Wide x 6" Tall x 2 1/2 Depth & Weighs approx.
