Incredible and rare piece of American history!! HEAVY 40lb cast iron American Eagle with spread wings, shield, and arrows.

3 dimensional look (not flat)! Has amazing authentic chippy painted patina throughout that you can only get through decades of aging. Its history is unknown, but I can imagine this incredible piece once hung outside a prestigious home or important historic building. Condition: layers of chippy paint throughout with the main color being a very soft flat gold (not very metallic).

There are areas of dark maroon, and a more metallic gold paint showing underneath in some areas. Rust and rust colored patina throughout.

Use: Originally it would have been hung as you can see large hooks on the back. Measures approximately 40" from wing tip to wing tip, 14" from highest point of wing to lowest point of the shield, and about 4.5 of three dimensional depth. Please note that due to its appearance and weight, it is assumed that the metal is cast iron, however it is untested and cannot be 100% guaranteed.
